Arena Group maintain service at Wimbledon Championships

29 June 2009

The 2009 Wimbledon Championships has enjoyed glorious weather, the much discussed new centre court roof moved for the first time as showers threatened and covered a thrilling match that saw British hopes kept alive and optimistic with Andy Murray.

Arena Structures began the first of a four year contract to supply temporary structures to the all-England Championships in similarly good form. The company enjoys a long history supplying the prestigious Grand Slam and once again this year supplied all of the temporary hospitality structures on site. Installations vary from spacious restaurants to the hardwood decked hospitality village with its luxurious hospitality chalets built over the clay courts of the tennis club.

David Moynes is Arena Structures Senior Project Manager, he said:
“Whilst we are comfortable with the (not inconsiderable) logistical challenges associated with working at one of the world’s best loved tennis championships, we are always pushing ourselves to improve facilities where possible, often through design led innovations creating stunning interiors for guests,”

Away from the main two courts sister company Arena Seating’s temporary grandstands have been installed around many of the outside courts to create maximum capacity and optimum viewing opportunities for fans.

The third Arena Group company at the 2009 Wimbledon Championships is Spaceworks supplying a wide range of furniture to private hospitality and public catering areas.
