Arena Structures ceremonial structures State Visit
Arena Structures provided bespoke ceremonial pavilions on Horse Guards for the ceremonial welcome of The President of the United Mexican States and Senora Zavala for this spring’s State visit.
Her Majesty The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh welcomed Felipe Calderon and his wife, as thousands lined The Mall in central London. The ceremonial welcome included a Royal Salute, Guard of Honour, and The President met officials led by Prime Minister Gordon Brown and armed forces chiefs in the Arena Structures pavilion.
The main open fronted pavilion was a beautifully finished twin peaked structure; green, red and white colours represented the visiting Head of State, with a facia bearing the Royal crest and Presidential crest. This was flanked by two single peak guest pavilions with matching fascia’s and Presidential crests.
Arena’s project manager David Moynes, with over two decades experience supplying ceremonial structures, said:
“These are very prestigious occasions that demand the highest standards. This week the security and logistical elements have been particularly stringent with the G20 summit also taking place in London requiring temporary structures. Our team are working on reduced timeframes to have the Horse Guards site clear within one-and-a-half days prior to the planned demonstrations in the Capital.”
