A1GP enjoys Arena Structures hospitality
The Swiss team raised the World Cup trophy in an exciting finish at the final leg of this year’s A1GP circuit at Brands Hatch, but it was British company Arena Structures which put the organisers in pole position in terms of their corporate hospitality offering.
Arena Structures was awarded the contract to provide the prestigious hospitality structures for this year’s deciding race for the first time. James Thomas was Arena’s project manager, working closely with A1GP to create structures that reflected the high standards of the brand, whilst creating a relaxing but exciting vantage point overlooking the start/finish line and the pits.
James commented:
“We developed some new ideas with A1GP to enhance the profile of the hospitality offering. They were a pleasure to work with and I was proud of the end result.”
The main hospitality feature, called Pangaea, was a 15m x 90m glass fronted peaked roof structure, with a 5m hardwood decking and patio for 700 guests to step out and enjoy the racing - complete with earplugs!
Arena also supplied the smaller neighbouring Velocity 15m x 55m hospitality structure for team Ireland and team GBR, twenty two 5m x 5m team chalets with hardwood patio in the pit lane area, and a crew catering facility.
A1GP’s General Manger of Hospitality & Event Services Alex Lewis was clearly happy to be back in the UK after an eight month, 10 race international tour.
“We’ve had a fantastic 2007/2008 season,” he said. “With the introduction of Ferrari engines next year, A1GP’s appeal can only go up.
“The standard of the hospitality in the UK surpasses any other circuit on the tour. This was never truer than this year when we brought in Arena Structures. It’s been fantastic - everywhere I looked things were better.”
