Arena Group create new look BMW PGA Championship

25 May 2010

The PGA European Tour presented a newly designed Wentworth West Course to host the 2010 BMW PGA Championship, which included beautifully finished temporary overlay by the Arena Group.

This was this first of the seasons UK golf events in a year that sees Arena Seating returning to supply the PGA European Tour with temporary seating grandstands. Sister company Arena Structures has maintained a long-term relationship with the PGA and was instrumental in securing a wider 3 year contract for the Arena Group that also included the provision of scaffolding and furniture.

Mark Shelley was Structures’ project manager, overseeing an experienced team. They installed the exclusive BMW Suite, a stunning Arena Horizon double-decker adjacent to the changed layout of the much talked-about water feature on the redesigned 18th green. Arena also supplied a range of structures best suited as key elements in the public village and exhibition area, the media centre and players’ facilities adjacent to the practice area where players and their families could relax.

Managing director Grahame Muir says:
“We have invested this year in the new Horizon walling system for the single and double deck structures we installed across the course to support the PGA and BMW. All parties are keen to continually progress this World class event and our new panels create a more contemporary aesthetic whilst also incorporating more efficient temperature transfer properties.”
