Arena Structures TFS creates new events venue at Battersea Power station

07 January 2010

Arena Structures has supplied a new temporary events venue in the heart of London’s Battersea Power Station.

Arena’s TFS has been built to high specifications that include a clear gable-end giving people views onto the instantly recognisable Battersea chimneys.

Arena Structures was selected to supply and construct the venue by 1st Option, who exclusively manage events, filming and photography at the famous London landmark. Their director of events and filming Elias Devries comments:

“The structure has exceeded our expectations and the size, style and quality have been well received by the industry so far.”

The 30m x 40m TFS venue offers event organisers a flexible space with full catering facilities and ablutions, air conditioning, and in its current format has capacities of 1000 standing or 500 plus for a seated event.

Arena Structures projects director Ron Smith supported the 1st Option team throughout a complex and seamless build, ensuring all local licensing requirements were met and exceeded. He says:

“We have experienced tremendous success with the TFS as a semi-permanent venue in previous locations, such as one year tenure as the Wembley Arena Pavilion and the Malta Convention Centre over the past three years. It delivers the feel of a permanent facility, complying with building regulations, but if required we could increase the capacity within days by installing additional bays.
“1st Option has created a great venue in a unique location, which I am looking forward to seeing utilised for a wide range of prestigious events in the coming years.”
