Arena Group begin 2010 Ryder Cup work at Celtic Manor
The build up to The Ryder Cup has begun in earnest this week with the Arena Group starting the process of installing the temporary infrastructure at The Celtic Manor Resort in Wales.
Golf’s greatest team event will be the focus of the golfing world from 1st – 3rd October when Colin Montgomerie’s European Team try to regain The Ryder Cup at the expense of Corey Pavin’s United States side over the Twenty Ten Course.
On Monday, Arena Structures’ Project Manager James Thomas (pictured) visited the site along with Ryder Cup organisers to welcome the first of over 300 lorry loads of essential equipment which will help to create the vital course infrastructure needed to host an event of the magnitude of The Ryder Cup.
Arena Scaffolding were the first on site to construct the sub-structures to support the facilities constructed over the undulating course. Arena Structures will begin work shortly on the prestigious triple-decker Harlech Suites 18th Hospitality Pavilion overlooking the 18th green alongside Arena’s double-decker Past Players lounge, an international media centre, which, combined with 60 supplementary course structures totals at a huge 16,500m² of temporary facilities.
Arena Seating will supply grandstands with seating for 15,000 at multiple green and tee positions around the course, with Spaceworks providing furniture for the structures.
